KYMN Radio was established as a 1,000-watt station in 1968 by Stan Stydnicki. Morning host, Wayne Eddy began broadcasting on Sept. 27, 1968. Eddy became the owner/manager in April 1989.
Today, the station broadcasts as 95.1 FM The One, as 1080 AM, and online with a wide variety of programming.
KYMN’s contribution to the DHC to date includes a six-part interview by Wayne Eddy with former governor and congressman Al Quie, who was born near Northfield. Also included are about 40 photographs from the station’s office in the 1970s and 80s, a number of jingles and commercials from that time period, and about a dozen more hours of the Wayne Eddy Affair.
